Dr. Sophie Galvin
Dr. Sophie Galvin joined our team in April, and we couldn’t be happier to have her here. She brings a big heart for both medicine and surgery, and she has a special love for helping pets heal and thrive.
Dr. Galvin was born in England and moved to America when she was nine years old. She grew up right here in Texas, though she spent a few years in Arizona before making her way back to the Lone Star State.
She’s a first-generation college student who has always known she wanted to be a doctor. Even in high school, she was involved in medical programs and externships. Over time, her passion turned toward veterinary medicine, where she found her true calling caring for animals and the people who love them.
Dr. Galvin earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry and later pursued a second degree in English Creative Writing. She went on to graduate from Midwestern University College of Veterinary Medicine.
In practice, she enjoys all aspects of veterinary care but has a special interest in soft-tissue surgery, preventive medicine, and orthopedics. She also has a deep appreciation for the human-animal bond and finds it incredibly rewarding to help nurse sick pets back to health.
When she’s not working, you’ll often find Dr. Galvin traveling with her family—she especially loves trips to the beach and Disneyland. She’s also a big fan of reading and writing fiction, going to concerts, and discovering new places to eat.
At home, she shares her life with two Coton de Tulears: Rocket, her sweet and playful senior pup, and Holly, the younger mischief-maker who keeps everyone on their toes.
